Commercial Project:
9 Unit Development - Mandurah Retirement Village
Nine Independent Living Units and a communal room have been
built as part of a cluster housing development within the Mandurah
Retirement Village Master plan. These have communal parking areas
and are accessed by paths to their units. The single level units
intentionally view out onto these paths to create a sense of
community and interest for the elderly residents. The living spaces
and master bedrooms of all the units face north and solar pergolas
are used to control the heat in summer while letting winter warmth
in. The internal spaces of the units have been designed to
universal access standards to allow "aging in place". The communal
room enables communal gatherings to combat isolation of the
elderly.
Environmental aspects

collection system re-charges cisterns.
