With a positive and satisfactory working relationship in place with MRV, a new request was made to design and oversee the build of a 34 bed nursing home extension. The job entailed designing the rooms into clusters of between 10 and 12 and each cluster would have its own communal area and kitchenette. Designs also incorporated the careful placement of doors and windows to maximise use of breezes, cross ventilation and sunlight to light and warm the rooms at varying times throughout the year. Night ventilation systems were also included.

Another request made by the nurses, staff and occupants was to ensure front doors faced onto pedestrian pathways and roads. This was because the residents enjoyed interacting with other people.
