Residential Project:
South Fremantle House
The site in South Fremantle has a beautiful uninterrupted north
westerly view across parkland to the beach. The client wanted a
passive solar Fremantle style house with a retreat on the upper
floor where he would spend most of his time while downstairs is
mainly for guests. One enters the centre of the house on the south
and the upstairs and downstairs living spaces open out to the north
west onto balconies and terraces. The main features of the house
are the double height solar pergola and the circular stone tower on
the street frontage. These circular forms are repeated internally
throughout the building.
