The client enjoyed living on a large block in Wembley Downs with a larger garden. The house needed a facelift and Andie needed a studio to teach her drama students. With an eye to re-sale it was decided to design the studio so that it could be turned into a double garage if required at some future date. The free standing studio was located on the northern side of the site creating courtyards between the existing house and the studio. A new pergola was built on the northern side of the house, opening out the living space to the north and creating an external entertaining area. The existing seventies house was gutted and a new kitchen, open plan living and dining space created. The bathrooms were refurbished and some internal walls removed to create an open plan TV area. The house was re-painted.

Environmental features - Retrofitting existing houses saves "embodied energy". A Solar hot water system was installed. Water wise garden.
