The client wanted to upgrade their very plain looking face brick and brown tiled roofed house in Woodlands. Structurally the building was sound. An existing courtyard was enclosed and a double volume reflecting northern light through high level windows into the centre of the house was designed. The aesthetic of the house was changed to an ultra modern look with clean lines. A new double garage and entrance was built adjacent to the existing pool. A generous open plan space was created for the living, dining and new kitchen which faces both north and south. An upper level mezzanine for the kids over the re- furbished laundry was created.
