Design Development

 

The Design Development stage of the design process typically includes developing the Concept Design to a level where council planning approval can be obtained. In addition, the design is developed more thoroughly to allowed more detailed costing to take place.

  • The Concept Design is re-modelled to your requirements, and detail is added to the drawings.  Elevations are drawn, room sizes agreed to, functional requirements, basic kitchen layouts, bathrooms and all other internal details are discussed and documented.

 

  • Revised opinions of cost and detailed drawings are provided.  These can be amended to suit your requirements and budget.

 

  • Construction type and general building materials are selected, and aesthetic style and appearance is determined.

 

  • We strongly recommend that at the end of the Design Development stage, a professional Quantity Surveyor be engaged to determine more detailed and accurate costings for the project.

 

  • Dependant upon Town Planning requirements, Preliminary Shire Approval is gained at this stage.
