Residential Service:
Audits (Building, Energy and Water)
Ecotect Architects are able to provide preliminary audits of
residential energy and water consumption through our Advisory
Service. This service includes an initial analysis of your home to
identify likely causes of excessive energy and water consumption
and the identification of possible solutions to improve
efficiency.
Over the years there have been many audits carried out as a
preliminary service. If the issues require more technical
input, a mechanical or electrical engineer is brought along as an
advisor.
With the science and engineering experience of Garry and his
associate Andrew Ferguson, the team can make sure that the building
design can be analysed accurately and compared with average
consumption figures.
The Advisory Service is provided by one of our architects who
will meet with you for up to three hours. Alternatively, an on site
meeting can be arranged if this is more appropriate to your
situation.
1988 to present day, Many inspections and review of energy
bills have been carried out in conjunction with our advisory
service.
2009, An audit was carried out along with Martin Anda and
students from Murdoch university for the Broome St, Cottesloe
retrofit. Garry Baverstock was an advisor and supervisor of
the students and help translate the report into an action list for
construction and design decisions.
An initial walk through may be only the cost of a standard E-A
advisory fee. If further work is needed then the costs of the
service and time frame involved will be reported as part of the
initial investigation.
