Residential Service:
Building Inspections
Ecotect Architects are able to provide house inspections in
order to identify likely causes of excessive energy and water
consumption. This is conducted as part of our Advisory Service, and
includes suggestions on how to increase your home's energy and
water efficency.
Garry Baverstock has an 'A 'class building registration since
1975 and it is still current. The practice has built many
projects over the years as well as hands on project management.
If a client is requiring an expert opinion on the progress of
their builder a report can be made or an inspection service offered
to lower the risk of making mistakes.
The Advisory Service is provided by one of our architects who
will meet with you for up to three hours. Alternatively, an on site
meeting can be arranged if this is more appropriate to your
situation.
A regular visit can be contracted to cover the time of an
architect plus travel expenses, and designated stages for the
inspections will be outlined at the advisory stage.
It is not a commonly used service and usually is requested when
things are going wrong with a client's builder and professional
action is needed. The service can also benefit owner
builders.
We have instances where a builder's contract may need to be
terminated and the construction phase completed under an owner
builder basis.
This is obviously an option for our clients but as a public
service, we will extend this service to approved customers in our
local area or recommend a viable alternative.
This is based on a time charge basis plus disbursements;
- Architect $150.00 per hour
- Senior Architect $180.00 per hour
- Principal Garry Baverstock $250.00 per hour
