If you have had house plans prepared for you or if you are considering purchasing an off the plan design, Ecotect Architects are able to provide floor plan appraisals through our Advisory Service. Whether you are considering building a new home or undergoing an addition or renovations, this service will help you to ensure that your home will have appropriate energy and water saving measures.

This advice can relate to any or all of the following areas:

• Preliminary feasibility and costing
• Passive solar design and other ESD issues
• Planning and local council requirements
• General design issues
• Preliminary material selection
• Preliminary site analysis

The Advisory Service is provided by one of our architects who will meet with you for up to three hours. Alternatively, an on site meeting can be arranged if this is more appropriate to your situation.

With residential projects this advisory may lead to an audit service to establish more data, or a feasibility study based on initial conceptual work.  The cost of this will be explained at the interview session.

Most of our residential clients begin with this service.  Many times we have given SD advice to clients along with their architects when they are looking for a superior environmental performance for their project.

In some instances independent advice, for local government when there are disputes between neighbours over environmental matters.

The advisory service up to 3 hours is a packaged fixed fee.  Other costs for follow up analysis; concept or feasibility work will be assessed at the initial advisory.

Disbursement s for travel and accommodation will apply for sites outside the metropolitan area if the advisory occurs as part of a site visit.

• Senior Architect $180.00 per hour

• Principal Garry Baverstock $250.00 per hour
