Research

Ecotect Architects demonstrates a continuing interest in the promotion of new developments in energy and water efficient architecture through our participation in new research.

Ecotect Architects has collaborated with several major companies and different levels of government in the pursuit of innovative technological developments.

Due to our architects having multi degrees and post graduate qualifications we are placed to carry out research projects.  The links with universities with Garry Baverstock as an Adjunct Professor, gives this practice a dimension and capacity for research not common with other architectural practices.

This can be a great benefit to clients who want to be market leaders than followers.

Research often leads to changed design strategies and methodologies.  Government institutions and industry where there are huge investments in building environment and infrastructure really needs to keep ahead of changes.

Companies like Alcoa, Hamersley Iron, and Bunnings have utilized the services of Ecotect-Architects in the past and have developed a way forward based on our research.

Often these result in guidelines and technical reports (refer to policies and guidelines section of this website)

Research is not a cheap exercise and needs to be doe properly to have any meaning.  Usually we will work on a time charge basis plus disbursements or can negotiate a fixed fee once the scope of work is known.

The best way forward is to do some preliminary investigations or an advisory service on a standard fee basis or time charge.
